How to Reset Samsung i997 Infuse 4G

Performing Hard Reset on Samsung i997 Infuse 4G



Normal (Soft) Reset:

A normal reset stops all running applications but does not erase any programs or saved data.
Caution be sure to save any unsaved data before performing a normal reset since a normal reset erases all unsaved data.
 
  • Press and hold the Power Button for 11-13 seconds.
  • The phone will turn itself off.


Hard (Full) Reset:

Warning:
Perform a full reset, your Samsung i997 Infuse 4G returns to its default settings and looses all information that is not recorded in ROM (Read Only Memory) including Contacts, Messages etc..
 
Note: If you reset your device to the factory defaults with SD card encryption setting enabled, the device will not be able to read your encrypted files. Disable this setting before resetting the device.

Note: It is recommended you back up all data you want to keep before continuing.
 
 
Via Phone Settings: 
  • Tap Applications ➔ Settings ➔ Location and security.
  • Tap Clear storage. 



Via Phone Buttons:

  • Press and hold VOLUME UP + DOWN + POWER.
  • Release only POWER key, but keep pressing VOL +/- for 8 sec.
  • In recovery menu (Vol DOWN to highlight, POWER key to select) then select Delete all user data.

Infuse 4G Safe mode

  • Make sure your phone is turned off.
  • Press and hold the power key to boot up your device.
  • After the “Rethink Possible” letters change from blue to black, continually tap the MENU Samsung i997 Infuse 4G hard reset key.
    When the Home screen is displayed, Safe mode is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen.
