How to Factory Reset HTC 8X

Performing Factory Reset on HTC 8X


Factory or Hard (Full) Reset:

It may be necessary to perform a reset if your device fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped.


Warning: 
This will erase all your personal information, any contacts stored on your device and any programs that have been installed. You should only perform a clean boot when all other options have failed to restore your device to an operational state.


Factory Reset Via Device Buttons:

  1. Turn the power off.
  2. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button.
  3. Briefly press the POWER button.
  4. Release the VOLUME DOWN button when you see an icon on the screen.
  5. Then press the following hardware buttons in sequence:
VOLUME UP > VOLUME DOWN > POWER > VOLUME DOWN.
