Performing Factory Reset on Amazon Kindle Fire HD


Factory or Hard (Full) Reset:

It may be necessary to perform a reset if your device fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped.

Soft Reset Amazon Kindle Fire HD: 

  1. To perform a hard reset on your Kindle Fire, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release.
  2. After the device has completely turned off, press the power button to restart your Kindle Fire. 

Factory Reset Amazon Kindle Fire HD:
  1. Tap the Quick Settings icon, then tap More.
  2. Select Device.
  3. Click Reset to Factory Defaults ~ Removes all personal data from your device.
  4. That’s all.
