How to Hard Reset Sony Xperia S
Performing Factory Reset on Sony Xperia S
Factory or Hard (Full) Reset:
It may be necessary to perform a reset if your device fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped.
Warning:
This will erase all your personal information, any contacts stored on your device and any programs that have been installed. You should only perform a clean boot when all other options have failed to restore your device to an operational state.
Important Instructions:
- If you have an external memory in your device, you must remove it to avoid losing your important data, since the process of hard reset will erase all content in its path.
- As the internal memory can not be removed, I suggest you make a complete backup of your important files, because the hard reset will delete all data types or existing files.
- Make sure you have the device charged up to 70%.
- Open the application menu.
- Click on Settings.
- In Personal section and you click on Backup and restore.
- Click on factory data reset and then Reset phone.
Device will reboot and you will have completed.
- Turn off the device
- Press and hold the Power button + Volume Up + Camera at the same time.
- The Reset menu will appear and the button to lower the volume we are in the "Recovery" option and pressed the power button to confirm or Volume Up button does not work if the first attempt.
- The Android logo appears with a triangle and quickly hold down the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons until recovery or reset menu is displayed.
- In the Reset menu, move the Volume Down button until the option Reset factory data and pressed the power button to confirm the selection.
- On the next screen select the Yes option and pressed Power to confirm.
