Performing Factory Reset on Amazon Kindle 1
Factory or Hard (Full) Reset:
It may be necessary to perform a reset if your device fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped.
Warning:
This will erase all your personal information, any contacts stored on your device and any programs that have been installed. You should only perform a clean boot when all other options have failed to restore your device to an operational state.
Instructions to Reset Amazon Kindle 1:
- To reset Kindle 1, you need to open the back cover first.
- Turn your Kindle over so that the back cover is facing you.
- Slide the back cover off by pressing the cover firmly while sliding the cover to the right with your thumbs.
- Use a paper clip to press the reset button on the top left of the battery.
- The kindle will flash a few times and reset.
