How to Hard Reset Google Nexus ONE

Performing Hard Reset on Google Nexus ONE



Normal (Soft) Reset:

A normal reset stops all running applications but does not erase any programs or saved data.
Caution be sure to save any unsaved data before performing a normal reset since a normal reset erases all unsaved data.
 
  • Press and hold the Power Button for 11-13 seconds.
  • The phone will turn itself off.


Hard (Full) Reset:

Warning:
Perform a full reset, your Google Nexus ONE returns to its default settings and looses all information that is not recorded in ROM (Read Only Memory) including Contacts, Messages etc..
 
Note: If you reset your device to the factory defaults with SD card encryption setting enabled, the device will not be able to read your encrypted files. Disable this setting before resetting the device.

Note: It is recommended you back up all data you want to keep before continuing.
 
 
Via Phone Settings: 
  • In Menu Mode select Settings > Pricacy > Factory Data Reset. (This will ERASE ALL DATA on GOOGLE NEXUS ONE!)
  • TAP RESET Phone than EREASE EVERYTHING. NEXUS 1 WILL REBOOT!



  Via Phone Keys:

  • Hold down VOLUME DOWN and push POWER ON button for one sec & Release buttons.
  • You will see a boot menu HBOOT with various options. (NEXUS ONE FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, CLEAR STORAGE and SIMLOCK menu options).
 

 
  • Select with Volume up / down keys and Enter option with POWER button.

IF you choose nexus one Recovery and you see a yellow exclamation point and green droid

 

  • E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command 
  • Just press  volume down +power key (you will see android system recovery <2e>)
  • with the track ball highlight an item and click to select from the blue menu.
  • Android reboot system now.
  • Apply sdcard:update.zip.
  • Android wipe data / factory reset.
  • Android wipe cache partition.
